I pen these words as one who has felt the pain of church hurt.
I've wrestled with the disappointment of backsliding.
I've seen how spiritual abuse can change the beauty of Christianity into the ashes of despair.
Yet by God’s mercy I found that Jesus still heals.
Walk with me as we seek the old path to salvation for those searching.
Define biblical truth for those questioning, and peace for the troubled in spirit.
For we know, from these flow the strength to resist the wiles of the devil, and live a victorious live in Christ Jesus.

I know what it is to love Jesus and Christianity, yet walk away from a church assembly still wounded.
I know the ache of sitting in a pew while my struggles went unseen, my cries unheard, and my pain unnoticed.
I remember staring at the polished wood and stained glass while something inside me whispered, does anyone see me? Does anyone care?
I asked questions that no sermon answered.
I replayed messages in my mind, searching for light.
Yet, the fog only thickened when what was preached in public did not match what was practiced in private.
The words sounded holy, the voice powerful. But behind closed doors, the standard had been let down.
That chasm between confession and character left me confused and disappointed.
I began questioning what was real. You may have felt it too.
That tightness in your chest when things did not quite line up.
The unease in your spirit when you noticed applause had replaced repentance.
And saw the power to live right replaced with perfomance and bright lights.
The gospel proclaimed boldly from the pulpit wasn't matching the life practiced behind the curtain.
That kind of disappointment cuts deep. It can make you doubt your judgment.
It can make you question your faith.
It can even tempt you to step back from Jesus when it was never Jesus who wounded you.
Let me say that again, the gospel of Jesus Christ didn't fail us, man did.
The enemy of our souls works to cloud our minds and twist what is sacred into something profane.
Satan delights in mixing what is true with what feels true.
And if he can attach our pain to the name of Christ, he can push us toward backsliding, confusion, and fear.
He is a liar, and the father of lies. God still draws, and Jesus still saves.
I've known the unfailing mercies, and unmerited grace of God that meets us outside the noise.
Beyond the spectacle, and pressure to perform.
I have felt that mercy begin to mend what spiritual abuse and disappointment tore apart.
I have experienced grace that helped me stand in the midst of chaos and confusion.
Grace that empowered me to forgive.
Forgive those who wrested scripture, and mishandled the word of God.
Not because I am strong, but because He is faithful.
Christianity is not just a feeling. It is a way of life, of living.
It is humble obedience when no one sees you, and repentance that leads to restoration.
It is reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ.
It is the Holy Ghost guiding us into truth and teaching us how to live clean, steady lives in a crooked world.

And here is where I want you to lean in.
Where did the disconnect first begin for you?
Was it when a sermon that rang hollow, because a private conversation contradicted public words?
The time when your questions were routinely dismissed rather than answered?
It's not wise to name names here.
Nor do you have to relive every detail if it makes you unconfortable.
But you are invited to reflect honestly.
Write down your story, pray about it, and if you feel led, share it here.
Understanding we are not here to argue doctrine or attack ministries.
We are here for mending.
We are here to return to Christ in a way that is honest, grounded, and life giving, not soul crushing.
We are here to learn truth, resist the devil daily, and grow strong in faith.
Trusting God to rebuild what was broken.
Trusting the Holy Ghost to lead us into all truth.
And trusting that the truth still sets men free.
If you have stepped back from church because of hurt, you are not alone.
If you are wrestling with confusion, it doesn't mean you're weak.
If you are seeking Jesus for the first time and wondering whether any of this is real, you are not foolish.
You are searching, and that's a wonderful place to be.
So I invite you to participate here. Ask questions. Share reflections.
Tell us which Scriptures have been anchoring you in your storms.
Share where you are struggling, others will be struggling there too.
Let this not be a monologue, but a conversation that strengthens the people of God.
And one that reaches those who have not yet known Jesus Christ in the free pardon of their sins as well.
We will not pretend the wounds did not happen.
We also will not let them define our future.
By God’s mercy, we're stepping out of the fog, holding fast to truth, and drawing nearer to Jesus again.
And in that nearness is where peace lives. Real peace, and lasting joy.
Amen
